Today at The Dog House…

We kicked off nice and early with Sherree and Buzby the Highland Terrier — yes, named after the football manager, not the cartoon (important clarification). A seriously handsome boy, and his lovely owners arrived bearing coffee for Sherree and Siobhan, which automatically makes them VIPs in our eyes. Very, very appreciated ☕️💜
We welcomed two newbies today — Poppy the Maltese and Lilly the Havanese. Both girls were a little nervous after not-so-great experiences elsewhere, but they did amazingly well. Total cuteness overload, especially tiny Poppy, who at one point decided her legs had completely stopped working when she’d had enough. Oscar-worthy performance. Absolutely hilarious.
Buddy came in for a big groom — and when we say big, we mean all off. Dad takes him through the Chase a lot, so practicality is key for this handsome lad. Siobhan hadn’t seen him since moving to The Dog House and was very excited to make up for lost cuddle time.
Inca joined Sherree for her groom and reminded us why she holds the title of “best fake innocent face.” Belly up, kisses, cuddles, total angel… until grooming starts, at which point she transforms into a tiny piranha. We respect the dual personality.
Dotty popped in, as happy as ever — tail wagging, kissing everyone (including the other dogs). We’re fairly sure she enjoys her grooms more than we do… even the teeth cleaning. Always smiling, always a joy.
Regulars Elton and Kiki came to see Siobhan for a bath and tidy. Poor Elton has sore eyes at the moment, but that didn’t stop him being his usual happy, attention-loving self — though he does protest loudly when it’s Kiki’s turn. Kiki, meanwhile, has come such a long way, from an anxious, nervous girl to a calm, settled one who genuinely enjoys coming into the salon. These two are absolute favourites — everyone loves them.
Bear was in for his groom and, while he does like to keep us on our toes, we’ll say this: he’s got big feelings, a loud opinion, and a lot to say about everything. Manners are still a work in progress, but we’re confident he’ll get there… eventually 😅
And finally, a brand-new breed for us — a Sealyham Terrier. Did Sherree and Siobhan struggle to remember the name? Absolutely. Did they say it wrong multiple times? Also yes. But what a handsome, beautifully behaved boy he was, and what a transformation he had. We can’t wait to see him again.
Another busy, chaotic, cuddly, fluff-filled day at The Dog House — just how we like it 🐾💜
